Colle di
Val d’Elsa

Hidden pearl in the heart of Tuscany

Colle di Val d’Elsa is a beautiful Tuscan town, strategically located between Siena, Florence and Volterra, along the famous route of the Via Francigena. Bar Pizzeria Santa, which overlooks Piazza Santa Caterina, is located right along Stage 32, the main route through the historic center, allowing you to discover the main sights of the town.

Piazza Santa Caterina is one of the most beloved places for both locals and tourists, thanks to its lively atmosphere, large shaded area and summer nightlife. Bar Pizzeria Santa, surrounded by green trees, is the ideal place to relax while enjoying artisanal ice cream, quality cocktails, fragrant pizzas and an excellent selection of first and second courses.

Colle di Val d’Elsa is divided into two parts: the upper part, dominated by a charming medieval historic center perched on a hill, and the lower part, surrounded by natural landscapes and countryside to explore. It is the perfect destination for a romantic weekend getaway or a relaxing vacation amid art, history and nature.

The Sentierelsa: trekking along the river that enchants in Colle Val d’Elsa

Among the unmissable experiences in Colle Val d’Elsa is undoubtedly the Sentierelsa, an evocative nature trail ideal for lovers of trekking and photography. This route runs along the Elsa River for about 2 kilometers in a north-south direction, starting from the San Marziale Bridge in the hamlet of Gracciano and ending at the Spugna Bridge in the heart of Colle Val d’Elsa.

The complete round-trip route is about 5 km long and can be easily tackled in two hours, although it is easy to take longer for the many photo stops. Breathtaking scenery is passed along the way, such as the natural Diborrato waterfall and the Caldane hot springs, surrounded by lush vegetation.
